Art Trope Gallery

Our aim at ART TROPE GALLERY is to provide innovative long-term support to our artists by offering them a dedicated showcase close to the Pompidou Center in Paris, as well as international exposure and visibility targeted to specific networks.

Thanks to our many long-standing contacts with well-known figures in the art world, in Europe, the United States and Asia, we are able to offer our artists the opportunity to participate in exhibitions on three continents.

The gallery also owes its strength to the rigorous selection of artists relying on the experience and professionalism of a multidisciplinary committee composed of well-known personalities, under the supervision of the Founder and Curator Virginie Tison.

    BARBARA CHRISTOL

From an early age, Barbara Christol grew up in the world of art and had a passion for drawing.Barbara studied at the Beaux-Arts de Nîmes and later attended several painters' workshops to perfect her techniques. The Painter understands that she must deepen her knowledge in Art History and joins the prestigious University La Sorbonne in Paris up to the Doctorate in order to elaborate her own plastic and aesthetic research. Barbara Christol's pictorial work has become unique over the years as she has developed a plastic and aesthetic practice revolving around balls of wool. The artist creates series of ephemeral weavings that she exhibits in institutional places, in nature, or private spaces. The thread is always there, in her paintings, either physically or with the omnipresent use of the line. Figuration and abstraction are interwoven around favorite themes: space and play. Geometric figures infused with poetry move into landscapes, mountains, architectures, all underpinned by the structural lines that act as threads in the compositions. Barbara Christol's works are regularly exhibited and are part of private collections in France and the United States. Barbara Christol considers creation as a labyrinth, where the artist reaches the crossroads through trial and error, chance and repetition, while maintaining a common thread. Very concerned by the artisanal nature of her work, the painter fluctuates between figuration and abstraction. The line is omnipresent in her works as it is for her the bridge between both, the common thread. Barbara mixes mostly classical and traditional techniques to match with more contemporary ones. Barbara Christol weaves and unweaves a work whose subjects intertwine indefinitely in games of full, empty and untied. The Painter offers architectural universes highlighting an optimistic perspective of the world, where the place of Barbara Christol and her gesture act as a revelator.

    Denis Stracquadanio

Denis Stracquadanio's pictorial research is based on the colors and emotions that this Modern Couple can evoke. His abstract works integrate a poetic combination of materials, colours and movements which are singular in their compositions. His inspirations come from Gerhard Richter, Yves Klein, Fabienne Verdier or Gustave Klimt. Each of his series underlines an aspect of the difficulty of bringing expression and emotion to life in an artistic balance. Although Denis Stracquadanio grew up in a family based on work and rigour, nothing destined him to become a painter, since he also managed projects including their financial management in technological environments. The rationality of his profession has not dulled his acute sense of pictorial interpretations of the great Masters. It was during a trip to New York and a visit to its many museums that Denis Stracquadanio decided to make room for his creation and his passion for painting. It is since 2018 that the Artist exhibits his talent. He joined Art Trope Gallery in 2022. Denis Stracquadanio's works are part of Private Collections in France and Germany.

    Klara Gunnlaugsdottir

Apart from her studies in Political Science at the universities of Iceland and Trier in Germany, Klara has always been attracted to Art in general and painting in particular, a hobby she has practiced since her early childhood. Klara Gunnlaugsdottir is an Icelandic painter who has been living in Brittany, France for many years. This is how she deepened her pictorial research and her technique to the point of making it her new professional activity since this change of life had as a consequence to stop her previous career. The singularity of Klara Gunnlaugsdottir's painting is based on a contemporary abstract style often inspired by nature, in particular the landscapes of her native Iceland. Indeed, the Painter grew up in a small town near Reykjavik, surrounded by lava fields on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. During her career, Klara Gunnlaugsdottir has had several solo exhibitions and participated in various group exhibitions in France, England and Iceland. She joined Art Trope Gallery in 2022. Her paintings are in Private Collections in more than twenty countries on four continents. Klara Gunnlaugsdottir suggests and reveals the invisible in her paintings. Klara's abstract works are characterized by textures and reliefs, fluid and colorful gestures within compositions that reflect nature, especially the beautiful landscape of her native Iceland. Klara Gunnlaugsdottir conveys the positive elements found in nature and emphasizes the movement, strength and contradictions of natural elements.

    Sabrina Le Roux

Sabrina Le Roux finds in photography a key to grasp the reality of life. This need to express her vision of a world that in turn amazes her, oppresses her or questions her is released in the artistic research of the Artist. The literary sensitivity of Sabrina Le Roux is perceptible in her Art as well as her taste for the human being revealed by the choice of her nursing profession. Each image is an echo of the Artist's self-offering the discovery of Brittany, her place of life and treasures. Sabrina Le Roux's photography is distinguished by her poetic approach to the landscapes that surround her but also by her delicate eye whose need for reflection and creation advances her aesthetic research. Sabrina Le Roux has taken part in several exhibitions and is also an ambassador for the National Mathurin Méheut Museum in Lamballe-Armor in Brittany. Sabrina Le Roux searches in her photographic works for the essence of life. She extracts the magic of our environment while highlighting the questioning of the place of Man on Earth. The Artist's quest aims for reflection, astonishment or even questioning through her photographs. Her perception of Art is that it must be an open door to understanding the world. This is how the Artist's mission is to share her truth about the subjects photographed, transmit her values and her source of energy in the contemplation of life, of the harmony of the world, of the unity of the living like visual poetry. The Photographer works by association of ideas echoing her like a vibration. Her works are the result of a work between dream and reality on the verge of symbolism; It is for her to challenge the senses, to embark the Other in a metaphorical universe by capturing the authenticity and the simplicity of our places of life. Sabrina Le Roux wishes to transmit to the world an intimacy between Man and his environment.
