    Julie Edwards: Beyond Imperfections

    28 Nov 2020 – 23 Jan 2021

“I will not be determined by my illness, yet be more creative in spite of it.” — Julie Edwards Trying to come to grips with a debilitating diagnosis, impressionist artist Julie Edwards (1970, UK) prefers to look beyond her current "imperfections". Inspired by experiences and deeper meanings to daily occurrences, images for a new painting will simply come to her. But before placing a canvas on the easel, Julie goes through a series of careful preparations. Very much a cognitive process, she explores journaling and sketching. But when transferring it all to the canvas, a whole new experience transpires. While layering the paints, the work evolves. Julie can lose herself in the painting as she goes through her poignant process. What seemed mere minutes were factually hours. Emotions tangible; at times raw, or ever so soft and subtle, Julie masters and controls the translation to the canvas. Yet able to add their own experiences, Julie leaves room for the viewer to be part of the conversation. This specially curated collection of Julie’s work (2016-2020) provides the viewer with a very personal look into the artist’s world.

    Janet Timmerije: Animal Extravaganza

    12 Nov 2020 – 31 Dec 2020

"Animal Extravaganza" brings together the fun, lively, and colorful animal canvasses by internationally acclaimed Dutch artist, Janet Timmerije. Janet Timmerije is an award-winning, professional artist, living and working in the Netherlands. Her art is characterized by the energetic, impasto application of paints. Typical historic Dutch city views, farm life, birds, and flowers. With expressive black lines and bright colors, her paintings invite a smile. Can there be something like “comfort paintings”? If there is, it would be Janet’s work. Janet's colorful and expressive artwork is on view at a number of international museums, and part of many corporate and private collections around the world. Timmerije's art leaves room for the interpretation and imagination of her audience. No realistic, highly detailed images, yet a joyful, colorful interpretation of the world around her. Animals are her favorite subject to paint and the eyes are an important part of it: the animals are always in contact with each other and the audience. Welcome to Janet Timmerije’s viewing room and enjoy her “Animal Extravaganza”.

    Elena Myasnikova: Evocative Moments

    24 Oct 2020 – 19 Dec 2020

“I’d like to add beauty and tranquility to a home or office space.” This intention is tangible when going through the flow of Evocative Moments - a solo exhibit by talented Russian-Canadian artist, Elena Myasnikova. Highly detailed, with lavish embellishments, Elena likes to be in control of the outcome of the process. Her palette carefully chosen and deliberate in every phase of the artwork coming to completion, she envisions her work already in an art collector’s interior. Living and working in the beautiful foothills of the Rocky Mountains, nature’s magic surrounds Elena every day. Hence it is of no surprise she considers her natural surroundings to be her main source of inspiration. Drift away on the reminiscences of Elena’s Evocative Moments.

    Decadent Liaisons: Floral Abstractions

    29 Aug 2020 – 10 Oct 2020

“Decadent Liaisons: Floral Abstractions” is an intricate blend of floral and abstracted works by contemporary artists Fabienne Monestier (France) and Karin Goeppert (Germany). Inspired by the light that gives strength to the colours of nature, Fabienne explores the limitations and possibilities of her medium and technique. Her style is free and gestural, with a lot of spontaneity. Karin's work fluctuates between somewhat Utopian and abstract perceptions. She endeavours to show nature in all of its beauty but does also not shy away from its more destructive side. Enjoy the decadent liaison between the artists' cultures and lose yourself in the energy and rich palettes of their work.

Donna Winn: Mood of the Mountains

    21 May 2020 – 31 Jul 2020

Donna Winn: Mood of the Mountains Artist Donna Winn (Canada) is inspired by the world around her, mainly the beautiful foothills of the Rocky Mountains, where she lives and works. Whether landscapes, people, or social-economic situations; what Donna paints, originates from her soul. Born in a small village outside of Montreal, Quebec, for the past 40 years, Donna Winn has called the Calgary area home. It is here where she found her calling as an artist. It is also where she enjoyed her art schooling at the Alberta College of Art. A big part of Donna’s life's journey has been putting images on canvas or paper. Over the past 30 years, her work has seen tremendous growth. Staying true to her own style, she does not shy away from risks with new mediums or shapes. Over the years, Donna's work has been included in a variety of Galleries throughout Alberta and she's donated work to international charity foundations, like Amnesty International. Her paintings found their way to many private collections in Canada, USA, England, and Taiwan.
