CREATE Council on the Arts is a nonprofit arts organization serving over 40,000 individuals annually in Greene, Columbia and Schoharie Counties, NY with 65+ regional grants, ongoing exhibitions, 450 memberships, a quarterly arts and cultural magazine, lectures, workshops and weekly newsletters. CREATE’s mission is "To support and advance the arts and cultural community by broadening and enriching creative resources and economic growth in the region." We envision a community that celebrates artistic and cultural diversity and inspires creative engagement.

    Selects@CREATE - an exhibition of contemporary art organized in conjunction with Open Source Gallery and CREATE Council on the Arts, curated by Daniel Aycock and Kathleen Vance of the Front Room Gallery.     Woman I Am

    A selection of art by women, reflecting their unique creative visions with skill and originality. The exhibition presents more than 30 artworks in a variety of media including paintings, drawings, assemblages, collages, poetry, and media by 14 women from the New York State region, reflecting their unique creative visions with skill originality. The women artists are not only creating and exhibiting in this exhibition but are contributing to the future of the art by sharing a perspective of the world through their roles as women in the society. Artists: Haile Binns, Barbara Bonanno, Claire E. Cousin, Pauline DeCarmo, Helen Douglas, Kyra Husbands, Paula Lalala, Nicole Lemelin, Marline A.     CREATE Council on the Arts (formerly the Greene County Council on the Arts) is pleased to present its Annual Members Small Works Exhibition featuring original artwork created by our Artist Members and emerging artists. The Small Works exhibition will run from December 8, 2020-January 23, 2021. Due to COVID-19, there will be no opening or closing reception. CREATE’s Catskill Gallery, located at 398 Main Street in Catskill, NY, will be open with limited access and capacity. We are free to accommodate 6 visitors in the gallery per half an hour block. However, you must wear a mask and follow social distancing protocols. Dates and Hours for viewing: Fri, Dec. 11 &18: 12-4pm Sat, Dec. 12 & 19: 12-4pm Tues.
