    BORDERLESS

    06 Aug 2022 – 06 Sep 2022

About BORDERLESS: BORDERLESS - An International Hybrid Exhibition is the newest and most exciting project by the Norwegian Cultural Center this 2022. Making alternative ways and opportunities to look beyond the art scene's borders. As artists, setting up your exhibition is costly and involves acquiring a myriad of resources. BORDERLESS aims to alleviate these challenges while amplifying the impact of the artworks—by bringing global exposure to the picture, making art accessible to everyone, and delivering a physical exhibition without having the artists send their physical artworks. For an immersive experience, all works will be projected on touch screens and flat-screen TVs. The exhibition will be held physically in two countries; Oslo, Norway, and Manila, Philippines—simultaneously from 6th August to 9th August 2022. BORDERLESS partnered with Verse Gallery, Scandinavia's first permanent physical gallery for NFT-supported digital art. And Sine Pop, a boutique theater inside a restored 1948 house in the heart of the indie art scene in Cubao. Of course, with the technological influence of creating a Metaverse, BORDERLESS is breaking the barriers of a traditional exhibition by having an accessible online 3D Gallery for 30 days, for free. Anyone from different parts of the world is invited to the online space and join a series of public programs they can virtually attend, including speaking sessions with some of the participating artists. BACKGROUND ON CURATION: As the project aims to alleviate challenges and borders in the art scene, our Project Director, Valerie Harley, decided that it's fitting to have our first theme after the namesake project. The curation will showcase works that reflect borderless stories and elements. These elements extend beyond the thematic underpinnings, showcasing the erasure of borders and hindrances that limits our creativity and talent. This pilot exhibition also wants to tell the stories and motivations of each artwork and artist. With different backgrounds, BORDERLESS encourages intercultural collaborations within the platform by adopting various collaborations and explorations. We learn to stir voices, unfolding intersections, imaginations, and ideas. With BORDERLESS, we are here to empower artists and amplify their artistic impact on the world. Art is borderless, and this is BORDERLESS.
