Layla Fanucci: Central Park in the Four Seasons

    01 Oct 2022 – 11 Nov 2022

“Central Park is New York's largest urban park and one of the biggest in the world with 843 acres. It's the lungs of this great city. Vast and beautifully designed, a kind of poetic and philosophical view of the relationships between urban/rural and person/nature architecture. As a painter and resident of New York City for over 10 years, I love painting Central Park, to see the contrast of the green lawns, lakes, treetops and skyscrapers above. Then add the people, time, magnificent seasons and it becomes an evolving work of art.”

    Midnight Transformation

    12 Nov 2022 – 12 Jan 2023

Dennis Kleidon paints robust abstractions that unleash the imagination and explore the possibilities of paint in action. Each of Kleidon’s painting is an experiment, integrating color, bold strokes, and the beautiful dynamics of flowing textures within. In his recent paintings, paint explodes out of the graphic borders to express a creative dynamic over the relaxed, meditative background textures. This series is called “Transformation,” a title shared by a book Kleidon has written called, Unleash Your Imagination: Transform Your Life, encouraging his readers to unleash their imagination as a way of unlocking their hidden passions. As a classically trained pianist, Kleidon translates his love for jazz in two new series of paintings titled, “Poinciana” and “’Round Midnight,” following the impressions of two jazz greats, Ahmad Jamal, and Thelonious Monk. In these paintings, Kleidon translates the deep rich moods of their musical expressions and the synchronization experienced in piano jazz groups. Dissonant, yet composed, the paintings in Midnight Transformation display nuances that stretch the imagination and stoke the dreams of the viewer. “Kleidon’s paintings are not Minimalist. They are deeply personal. You see the motion of the creator’s hand. They are in no way blank – on the contrary, they are bursting with life.” — Edward Lucie-Smith
